You see, this past year BMW has taken the 6-series and given it a bit of a facial, fixing a few blemishes and adding a few more details that provides a bit of change while still providing the same great feel of the original car. The new 2008 is definitely looking good, and while there have only been a few minor changes, they have all been for the better, giving the 2008 BMW 6 Series an even better look than before. If you take a close look under the hood of the new 6 Series for 2008, you'll notice the 4.8 liter V8 that idles quietly. It is the same engine that the 2007 models boasted and puts out about 360 lb ft of torque as well as 360 horsepower as well. In just 5.3 seconds the coupe can do 0-60 mph and the convertible is not far behind, doing the 0-60mph in just 5.6 seconds. Both cars come with the six speed manual as the base transmission as well.

However, both the Steptronic and SMG automatic options are no longer being used. Instead the car now has the newest BMW six speed Sport Automatic transmission if you want to go automatic, and there are special steering wheel paddle shifters that come with this new transmissions. Also, while the Sport Automatic transmission is made to help match rpms when downshifting, there is also a special sport button that you can push to get more dynamic and quicker shift action as well.

There are a few exterior updates as well, which include extruded side sills, an air intake that is just a bit larger, and special LED accented headlights, which are very similar to those that are on the Audi R8. The LEDs that are right above the headlights also act as the signals for turning as well. The back end of the car is a bit more rounded this year and the center brake light is now a part of the spoiler lip, which is built a bit chunkier. Also, the taillights have been reshaped since the back is more rounded and there are new color options when it comes to the paint job on the new 2008 BMW 6 Series as well.

On the inside of the 2008 BMW 6 Series you'll find that there are new trim and leather options as well. If you get the convertible model, you'll get the special SunReflective Technology on the seats. This was first used on the 3-Series convertible back in 2007, and it works to treat the leather to help reflect away the sun, which helps to make sure that the seat temperatures do not get as hot from the sun. The special lane departure warning system has also been added to the 2008 6 series as well. Also, the special adaptive cruise control has been added to the car, which has a special stop and go feature to use in heavy traffic.
When it comes to safety, there are several new features as well. First of all, all the seats in the car have the Active Head Restraints, which help to keep the head and neck from being injured if you are in a rear end collision. Also, the special LED turn signal and brake lights have a quicker and brighter response, and the new third brake light improves visibility when you are braking as well.

For those looking for a sporty luxury car that has great technology as well as excellent power, the new 2008 BMW 6 Series is a car to consider. Whether you want a coupe or a convertible, you are sure to like what BMW has to offer this year. With a few new tweaks that just make the car better, it has all that you've come to expect from BMW and a whole lot more.
